The symposium was initiated by the ‘Vereinigung für Allgemeine und Angewandte Mikrobiologie’ (VAAM)
in 2016 and is solely organized by students. The event’s aim is to provide a platform for early career
researchers (ECR) (Master’s students, PhD students, young PostDocs) interested in cyanobacteria to discuss
their research. The symposium will also include a number of keynote lectures by invited guests.
All ECRs are encouraged to register with an abstract for either a poster presentation or a talk (15 min + 5 min discussion) through our online form until .
There is no registration fee, however, we may ask for a small contribution to our expenses for the BBQ of 10-20€. Furthermore, we are happy to announce that a travel grant is available to all VAAM members. For information on travel to and housing in Düsseldorf please refer to the Housing and Travel section.
